When the weather is really poor, will it bring my flat roof installation to a halt?

Will bad weather affect the installation of my flat roof?

High-Tech Membrane Roofing is committed to offering the highest standards of service at all times. A new flat roof is an investment; therefore we would not be happy risking your savings or the safety of our people by rushing through a project or choosing an unsuitable time to try installation. Instead, we watch the weather and schedule our work around the bad weather days. Unfortunately, the ‘Great British’ weather can sometimes be unpredictable so delays can happen.

We take the safety of your home, family and our staff very seriously. Rain, snow, hail and high winds can not only damage your property but also put people at risk.

Think about it for a moment; we will be removing your roof, exposing your home to the elements. The whole point of a roof is to protect a building and its contents from the effects of weather, as well as the invasion of animals. By taking your roof off during adverse weather, timber beams can get wet and rain can pool inside the cavity during installation, resulting in a brand new roof that leaks and will need to either be repaired or replaced.

Wet conditions and high winds present dangers on a roof. Windy, wet or icy conditions can cause our installers to lose their balance, putting their foot through the roof, dropping materials or falling off altogether, and potentially hurting themselves and others in the process. Falling debris can damage your property, vehicles and family members if they happen to be in the way.

Therefore, although we completely understand how annoying and inconvenient it is to have to delay an installation, the safety of your family, employees, property and our team is always our priority. To minimise disruption as much as possible, our technicians will contact you between 7am and 8am to explain the situation; they will also call our office so that the team can follow up and rearrange your installation.
